In addition to our medical, dental, and surgical care, DeKalb Animal Hospital offers professional boarding services with veterinary supervision and individualized attention from our staff. We want your pets to be healthy and happy when they board with us, so we do our best to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
We maintain separate areas for our canine and feline friends to ensure a stress-free stay for all visitors. Large and small dogs are accommodated with spacious indoor kennels and are walked twice a day so they can take care of business and get some outside time. Every feline lodger has a roomy cage where they can stretch out and relax. We supply bedding for all our boarders; however, pet owners can bring beds and blankets from home.
We provide food for all pet guests, but you are welcome to bring food from home, especially if your pet is on a prescription diet. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarians will be alerted if any problems are noted.
We also offer separate grooming services that you may want to take advantage of while your pet is staying with us. We provide professional cuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. Please let us know if you care to have your pet groomed when you make your boarding reservation.
Dogs are required to be up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and Influenza vaccinations, and cats must be up to date on their Rabies vaccination.
If you live in Fort Payne, or other communities in DeKalb and Jackson Counties, and you need someone to look after your pet when you are away from home, bring your baby to us, and we’ll supply plenty of tender loving care. Because space in our boarding kennel can fill up quickly, we ask that you make reservations in advance, especially around the holidays.
